History

Charlotte Mason history is living history: real events met through beautiful living books, read straight through, narrated, and located on a map. Kindred Thicket reads these histories aloud for you, clearly and accurately, and prepares the map work, copywork, key dates, and accuracy notes so you can gather your children and stay present.

Every history here is a Kindred Thicket Revised Edition, which corrects the factual mistakes, historical errors and dated wording of the original, with a plain errata in the guide explaining every change, and matters of perspective left and flagged so you decide what to share.

Questions families ask

How do Kindred Thicket history guides handle accuracy?
We took care of it. We write a Kindred Thicket Revised Edition of each book, which corrects the factual mistakes, historical errors and dated wording of the original, and the companion guide includes plain accuracy notes, an errata, that explain each change. Where the matter is one of perspective, we leave the passage and flag it, so you decide what to discuss. Nothing is quietly changed.
What is the map work like for history?
Each chapter comes with custom maps drawn and keyed to that chapter's own events, used alongside a basic atlas, with discussion questions laddered from kindergarten through the upper years. It is geography drawn out of the story, not a worksheet.
