Who we are

Kindred Thicket prepares Charlotte Mason lesson materials for homeschooling families. This site and its resources are made for parents and caregivers who are teaching children. You can reach us any time atmissthicket@kindredthicket.com.

This website

We do not use Google Analytics or any other analytics service, and there are no advertising or tracking pixels on this site. We do not set cookies of our own.

Our host, Netlify, keeps standard server logs of requests, including IP addresses, as part of delivering and protecting the site. Our audio files are served from Cloudflare R2, which works the same way. We do not use these logs to build a picture of individual visitors.

Pages that offer a paid guide load Gumroad's checkout script so that buying happens without leaving the page. That script comes from Gumroad and may set its own cookies. Purchases are handled entirely by Gumroad, who take the payment and hold the payment details. We never see or store card information.

Our email list

Joining our list is always a choice, and it happens on a page hosted by Kit, our email provider, not on this site. We ask for an email address, and a first name if you would like to give one, so we can write to you when new readings, lessons, and playlists are ready.

Kit stores that information and records ordinary email activity such as whether a message was opened. We do not sell or share your address with anyone. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing is immediate.

Importing playlists to Yoto

If you use our Yoto playlist import, you sign in with your own Yoto account and grant permission for two things only: creating Make Your Own playlists, and uploading the small icons that go beside each track. We do not ask for permission to view your library, your family details, your name, your email address, or to control your players.

The permission Yoto gives us lives only in your browser, for as long as that visit lasts. It is never sent to us, never written to our servers, and never stored anywhere by us. We do not keep a record of who imported what. Closing the tab ends our access, and you can remove it at any time from your Yoto account settings.

If you also choose to join our email list afterwards, that is a separate step, and you type your address yourself. We have no way to fill it in for you, because we never receive it from Yoto.

Children

Kindred Thicket is a teaching resource for adults. Our materials are prepared for parents and caregivers who choose the books and direct the lessons. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children, we do not build profiles of children, and our email list is intended for adults only.

If you believe a child has given us their information, write to us atmissthicket@kindredthicket.comand we will delete it.

Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Because the only thing we hold is an email address on a mailing list, this is usually simple. Write to us and we will take care of it.

Changes

If our practices change, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Questions are welcome atmissthicket@kindredthicket.com.
